So….after consideration, I ran some Burnt Sienna mixed with an ass load (that’s technical terms) of Transparent Base to this. I felt that it gave it an aged, worn look and helped push back some of the brighter vibrant colors.
…and here it is! The final thing I added, was some chalk pastel to the wings to make it “pop”. Lot of work, but I’m happy with how it turned out. Still working on the title…
The second blue background collagraph plate.
I added the first background collagraph layer. The odd look is attributed to the mylar mask, to prevent the image from turning colors.
The next step, a shit load of phototransfer.
This is the actual print of the wing layer. Based off of the last proofs, I changed the orientation of the image. It’s going to be skinnier and wider, to fit the image better. This has not been torn down … Continue reading
